Sustainble Composites

“Sustainability is about ecology, economy and equity”

YOUR BUSINESS IS OURS

Repair, Reuse and Recycle

Carbon Magics has a wealth of experience and capability towards the environmental pledge of Repair, Reuse and Recycle (R-Cube pledge) of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) and glass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP) based structures and materials. Our engineers are actively contributing to SAE Technical Working Groups and closely working with fellow industrial technologists and academic ecosystem domain experts. Our capabilities include design and qualification of repair schemes to restore the fit, form and function of structural components and assemblies to their original design intent. In addition, we can assist in the reuse of the recycled and reclaimed (recovered) fibres in an optimum way to get the most performance and cash value as part of sustainability goals

our Development

Natural & Synthetic Composites

In contrast to synthetic fibres, natural fibres such as sisal, flax, bamboo and banana fibrous composites in uni-directional or plain woven or 2×2 twill woven textures can be widely used as the alternative lightweight environmentally friendly composites for many industries including automotive interiors, rail interiors, aircraft cabin and interiors, consumer goods, submarine interiors, personal mobility vehicles, urban air mobility vehicles, drones and electric vehicles. Our expertise in this domain includes characterising natural fibre and natural resins through design for manufacture, design for performance and design to cost leverages. We also work with a number of technologists to enhance the mechanical properties of natural fibre reinforced plastic (NFRP) composites through the application of advanced innovative materials such as graphene and nanoparticles. Beyond technical fabrics, we are also able to source and support the product development involving linen textile fabrics made out of banana fibres and bamboo fibres. Some examples include yoga mats, seat back rests, liners for caps and body uniform vests.
